While unnatural, there's something attractive about the bright glow of a city at night. If urban alone, this area would just be a brick jungle, filled with humanity's false representation of nature. But with the river and the tree, you can almost image the city as a snapshot in nature, rather then protected pockets of nature being all that is left untouched.
